The Warrior Competition is an annual combat-oriented competition that takes place at the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center KASOTC in Amman, Jordan. Former U.S. special operations members working at KASOTC created the competition in May 2009. The Annual Warrior Competition is to build esprit de corps among Special Operations Forces (SOF) & Police Forces partnered against terrorism. Other aims of the competition are to facilitate sharing of best-practices, technology, and hardware; and strengthen international coalitions. The competition breeds cohesion within SOF & Police units, provides a yardstick for unit performance, and exposes strengths and weaknesses in unit and individual skill sets. The 7th Annual Warrior Competition is scheduled for April 19–23, 2015. In 2014, Missionx was selected by KASOTC to plan and execute the competitive events for the 6th Annual Warrior Competition. Many of the members from MissionX are prior KASOTC instructors who served with various international SOF units. Some of these former SOF soldiers are wounded warriors and will mark the first time in the competition’s history where wounded soldiers will be involved with the event.
